As you probably all know by now, this year is our 40th Birthday and we have lots of exciting things to roll out to you over the year. Because we want you all to enjoy the party, we have decided to give away a birthday present to one of our newsletter readers each quarter.
As we enter our 40th anniversary year, we’d like to reminisce about some of the early items which found their way into The Quilters’ Guild Collection.
This year at the Festival of Quilts our Quilters’ Guild Collection exhibition celebrates 300 years of the iconic 1718 Silk Patchwork Coverlet, exploring extensive research on the piece and how its unique design is still an inspiration for makers today.
With the coming of the summer an explosion of colour and pattern will arrive in Rutland in the form of a collaborative new exhibition between The Quilters’ Guild and Rutland County Museum. Items from both the Guild Collection and the Museum will be on display.
The Quilters’ Guild is delighted to be welcoming the Magna Carta Quilts to their new forever home in the Guild Collection.
