As we focus on the Traditional Special Interest Group, let’s take a look at some of the challenges available in 2022. All Guild members are eligible to join the Traditional SIG, so why not take a look and see what you fancy?
Scottish Championship Show, Glasgow, 3-6 March 2022
This challenge is for a twelve and a half inch square quilt, using the Drunkards Path block. Colours can be your own choice, but must include a dash of purple. Challenge entries must be received by 14th February 2022. Full requirements and the entry form can be found here.
Region 16 Co-ordinator Challenge for Glasgow Quilt Show 2022
Think of a song with the colour GREEN in the title, and use this song as your inspiration to make a twelve and a half inch square quilt. The background colour can be your choice, however the rest of the quilt must be green. Challenge entries must be received by 14th February 2022. Quilters’ Guild AGM & Conference Ipswich, Suffolk, 1-3 April 2022
Suffolk is known as the Rainbow County because of its chocolate box cottages, brilliantly bright bungalows, and psychedelic semis. Multi coloured houses can be seen lining the coast like a rainbow rising from the sea. There is also a shade of pink named after the county – Suffolk Pink.
This challenge is to make a traditional house block using any colours you wish, but you must include a touch of pink. You can applique your house, use log cabin; the choice is yours! This challenge is for a twelve and a half inch square quilt. Challenge entries must be received by 15th March 2022. Full requirements and the entry form can be found here.
Festival of Quilts, 18-21 August 2022
This challenge is for a twelve and a half inch square quilt, on the theme ‘Triangles’. Colours can be your own choice. Challenge entries must be received by 15th July 2022. Full requirements and the entry form can be found here.
