A series of three articles by our own curator, Heather Audin, will be running in upcoming issues of Today’s Quilter.
Each issue will feature a story on an item from The Collection, beginning with The Betsy Cope Quilt in issue 68, on sale 29 October. This interesting double Irish Chain patchwork is made from a variety of cotton dress prints, and uses Turkey Red squares to accentuate the central block which contains the embroidered name and details of the maker ‘Betsy Jane Cope, Hunmanby, Aged 13’.
